Our Story
Helping Waukesha County Children Since 1949
Since 1949, the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County has been promoting and coordinating the giving to families in need during the Christmas season. We provide a clearinghouse that matches families with area groups, families, businesses, and individuals who wish to help people less fortunate in our community. In 2019, we coordinated giving to more than 1,900 families and nearly 4,300 children in Waukesha County.

Angel Awards
Angle Award Winners
CCC established the annual Angel Awards in 2006 to recognize those in the community who, through special acts of generosity, further the CCC mission of helping families celebrate a more joyful Christmas. These are our 2021 Angel Award recipients.

Youth Award
Catholic Memorial High School National Honor Society
The CMH NHS has sponsored hundreds of children since 1999. In 2020, despite the challenges of the pandemic, energetic and dedicated students sponsored 30 children and donated $1600 in gift cards, which were shared with teenagers in our program. We are so grateful for the consistent generosity of CMH students and for the leadership of faculty advisers in inspiring them to give back to their community.
Community Group Award
Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club
The Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club has sponsored dozens of children for more than 10 years and has been a loyal cash donor since 2015. The generosity of club members has made a significant difference in the lives of many children whose families are struggling financially.

Public Organization Award
Waukesha Fire Department
The Waukesha Fire Department has sponsored 171 children since 2007. In 2015, firefighters also donated $500 in gift cards that were shared with teenagers who were not sponsored. All Waukesha fire stations also serve yearly as toy donation sites and graciously display our red barrels for the community to drop off gifts.
Individual Award
Kara Moore
Kara works tirelessly to educate the staff and clients at the Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services about how CCC can be a benefit each season to those who are struggling financially. She works alongside CCC staff to refer and qualify families to our program. Kara is a dedicated community leader with a heart of gold.

Rookie of the Year
Michelle Nehs
Michelle joined the office volunteer staff in fall of 2020 and wasted no time getting her hands dirty. She jumped right in, answering phone calls from clients and supporters, filling sponsorship requests, and helping to prepare for each of the three gift card giveaway events. She frequently came in early, stayed late and took on extra shifts. She knew the task this year was a big one and stepped up in a big way.
